Adam Renzi has been a coach with the North Carolina Challengers Organization since August 2007. Adam Renzi’s résumé includes achievements at all levels of softball.
Head Coach North Carolina Challengers Raleigh, North Carolina
August 2007 – Present
Head coach of ‘gold’ level travel ball teams playing at the 16U & 18U age groups. Coached teams to top 25 finishes at PGF Natls in 2015 and 2016.
Worked with players to develop fundamental softball skills, competitiveness, and increased game knowledge.
Duties included planning of practices, game organization, travel planning, fundraising, supervision of assistant coaches, budget preparation, and recruitment of athletes to potential colleges and universities.
Tournament director for 2011 and 2012 PONY National Tournaments – 225+ teams attended each year.
Organization president 2012-present.
Assistant Softball Coach Meredith College Raleigh, North Carolina
October 2011 – January 2021
Assistant coach for highly competitive NCAA Division III softball team in the USA South Conference. On-field duties involved working to develop fundamental defensive skills of the catchers and outfielders. Also worked as the primary hitting instructor. In 2015, set team records for batting average, slugging percentage, home runs, and on base percentage.
Administrative duties included facility maintenance/future upgrade planning, travel planning, assisting in scheduling, and significant involvement with the recruiting of future student athletes. Assisted in the recruitment of 17 student athletes for 2015 season to replace a large departing senior class.
Academic mentor to students. Helped to achieve a team GPA of over 3.20 each year since 2011.
Set school record for number of victories in a season in 2017 while finishing first in conference.

Head coach of 4A Varsity softball program in the SWAC.
Worked with players to develop fundamental softball skills, competitiveness, and increased game knowledge.
Duties included complete oversight of program including planning of practices, game organization, fundraising, scheduling of non-conference games and field/facility maintenance and upkeep.
Head Coach Capitaland Crush Fastpitch Softball Club Albany, New York
August 2002-March 2006
Manager and head coach of ‘A’ level 14U travel ball team for four (4) seasons. On-field and administrative duties similar to those discussed above.
Head Coach Boston (NY) Breeze Fastpitch Softball Team Buffalo, New York
August 1999-March 2006
Formed 18U Junior Olympic recruited travel team from ground-up. Initial duties involved public relations to inform potential parents/athletes of team’s existence, setup of federal not-for-profit paperwork, initial budget preparation, and facility maintenance (three-field complex). Following the formation of the team, duties again included complete program management as described above.

September 1995 – March 2002
Assisted in the practice and game organization of 18U recruited travel team. Primary duties focused on working with pitchers and catchers, fundamental defensive skills, defensive game management, and base coaching. Team attended ASA “A” Nationals in 2000.
